Plot twist, Katerina never actually went to design school, but that hasn’t stopped her from creating campaigns that have reached thousands (like this ad that has over 300K views and this launch video with 40K views), and building big brands such as Butterfly Network, a startup disrupting the MedTech industry.
Life has been her school.
As a self-starter, Katerina quickly took her Fine Arts background, her Masters Degree in Art History from NYU, and her nerdy tech skills with computers to good use. She started off as a visual designer at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, then made her way as an Art Director at The New York Times, and finally made it to the Design Everest ... Google.
She spent 5 years as the Creative and Brand Director at Butterfly Network, building the brand that you see today, launching their first and second-gen products on both the human and vet verticals, and taking Butterfly to IPO in February 2021 with The New Image of Health campaign.
She is now the Head of Brand and Marketing at Medivis, a medtech company harnessing augmented reality and computer vision to build technology that helps improve surgical care for patients. Medivis' goal is bold but clear: Establish augmented reality as the visual standard of care in medicine.
Her superpower: leading with compassion, and using empathy and understanding to drive brands forward.
Her secret: love what you do, and love who you do it with.
Katerina spends her time between New York (her home) and Greece (her motherland). It is her roots that inspire her and become the source of her storytelling.
Her ideas and her triumphs would not be possible without her family and her loved ones, for which she owes it all to.
